Description: Job Description
  • Seek quotations on a variety of goods and services, issue Purchase Orders and expedite delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation, and occasionally lead the development, of tender documentation such as Further Competitions, Invitations to Tender and contracts.
  • Participate in, and occasionally lead, tender evaluation exercises and prepare tender evaluation reports.
  • Assist in the creation of suitable contract records to meet internal and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in the management of transactional contract deliverables.
  • Supporting the Sourcing Officer & Sourcing Manager in the day to day management of a portfolio of contracts;
  • Following the business processes that support the Commercial & Contract Management Team as defined in the NWS Management System.
  • Supporting the NDA Collaborative Procurement programme.
  • Maintaining an awareness of suppliers and services in order to support the needs of the department.
  • Assist in the preparation of procurement strategies.
  • Preparing contract documents and records for configuration control and archiving purposes.
  • Carry out commercial reporting requirements for internal and external sources.
  • Deputise for the Sourcing Officer as required.
  • Have knowledge of contract terms and conditions to ensure that contract management can be delivered effectively.
  • Achieve individual Performance Objectives set by the Line Manager.
  • Identifying job specific training requirements and development needs.

  • To assist the Sourcing Manager in establishing contracts and framework agreements, managing contracts and procuring low value services and supplies as required

  • To assist the Commercial and Contract Management Team in providing a safe and enjoyable working environment
  • To provide workable & effective contract vehicles to the Contract Management Team.

Essential skills, knowledge and qualifications
  • Good level of GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial and procurement processes and contract terms
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
