The Position:
The Primary Engineer is responsible to design optimised substation layouts that integrate all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints.
- Technical engineering of primary, secondary design of substations / HVDC stations.
- Design optimised substation layouts integrating all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints.
- Convert project contractual documents into requirements and technical specifications.
- Define and control planning for the project, ensuring on-time delivery of your deliverables.
- Review and validate engineering deliverables under your project / tender scope.
- Organize and perform projects design / gate reviews related to your function.
- Conversant in managing the Interface with other disciplines / suppliers / cross-functions.
- Collaborates on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors.
- Interacts with customers, contractors, suppliers, attends project meetings and presents all technical aspects of project assignments.

Experience & Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or HNC (or relevant experience)
- Knowledge on High Voltage substation international standards & guidelines (IEC, IEEE, CIGRE etc.) and related equipment and substation design.
- Experience up to 132Kv is essential
- Knowledge of primary / secondary design engineering of substations or power plants or HVDC converter stations.
- Knowledge on contract and project management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), or Engineering equipment package (EEP) type.
- Proficient with Autodesk CAD tools Revit, BIM360 etc.
