Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a 3D Modelling Engineer/BIM Technician, with a background in Nuclear or Defence, to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in either Warrington or Bristol.
Key responsibilities will be:
3D layout, modelling and design using TEKLA
Develop 3D models using TEKLA, detail reinforcement within 3D models using TEKLA, resolve clashes within TEKLA models
Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data
Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications etc.)
Technical verifications of civil engineering documents
Create and maintain CDM Designers Risk Registers and associated CDM deliverables
Qualifications
Civil and/or structural engineering degree (or similar) qualification
Working towards chartership or Incorporated Membership with ICE or IStructE
Experience of design/detailing/modelling of reinforced concrete and steel structures
Design experience in nuclear context (or similar highly regulated context)
Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders
UK Nuclear Licensing and Generic Design Assessment process experience is desirable
