Mechanical Project Manager (Nuclear)

Hinkley Point, nr Bridgwater (Bristol for the first 6/9 months)

Full time, Permanent

9 day working fortnight. (37 hours on average)

Hybrid working opportunities (Mixture of on site & home working required)

Up to £72,000 + £5,700 Car Allowance (Travel and accommodation reimbursed for those travelling further afield)

We are partnered with a tier 1 engineering services provider who are part of the exciting Hinkley Point C nuclear power station build. They are currently looking to add an mechanical project manager from a nuclear/heavily regulated building services background to their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The Role:

  • Driving the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
  • Developing and implementing strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.
  • Monitoring and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
  • Display a broad understanding of mechanical systems infrastructure, safety & commissioning requirements, commercial construction industry practices, construction contracts and budget/schedule management.
  • To engage and communicate with stakeholders to ensure that accurate timelines are maintained, and tasks delivered.
  • Lead motivate and develop teams to drive projects and exceed expectations.

The Requirements:

  • Educated to HNC in Mechanical Engineering (Minimum requirement) preferably to degree level.
  • Candidate will preferably have experience in nuclear mechanical systems, installation, quality & safety needs.
  • Experienced in managing Nuclear installation standards including safety critical systems
  • Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification.
  • Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, from concept to handover, within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
