Documentation Engineer Location: Worcester Role Overview: As a Documentation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting high-value capital projects within the operational business unit. You will be responsible for structuring and managing project documentation to align with client specifications. You will also provide direct support to project teams, ensuring proper documentation processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: - Review and verify product documentation against purchase orders.
- Serve as the primary contact between the company and the client for documentation matters.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Master Document Register.
- Manage and organize the project database, ensuring proper documentation filing per company procedures.
- Control all incoming and outgoing documentation for the project engineering team, ensuring correct registration, numbering, filing, and distribution.
- Handle document correspondence via project mailboxes and client web portals.
- Ensure consistency in document formats, numbering, and naming protocols per client specifications.
- Review sub-supplier component parts and documentation for compliance with area classification and engineering requirements.
- Compile, format, and submit sub-supplier documentation for client review.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing and issuing IOMs, MRBs, and dispatch dossiers.
Required Skills & Experience: - Engineering background with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs for component identification and tagging.
- Experience in Hazardous Area compliance is advantageous.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (ONC, HNC, or a Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering preferred).
- Ability to instruct project teams on client-specific templates and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with technical specifications and directives.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Office, and documentation systems.
- Skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro for managing large documents.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience working within Oil & Gas, Chemical, Nuclear, or Heavy Engineering sectors is essential.
