Research Sites Restoration Ltd is undertaking the management, decommissioning and environmental restoration of the Harwell and Winfrith Nuclear Licensed Sites.
Winfrith was a major centre for reactor development from the late 1950s to the 1990s whilst Harwell was the cradle of the UK nuclear industry with origins going back to the 1940s. The legacy of this work includes a number of large research reactors in various stages of decommissioning as well as research, support and waste facilities and areas in need of environmental restoration.
